Hit or a flop?

Last vacation I went home to see my mom. She is a Postal Assistant in the head office (HO) of my hometown. As we discussed some issues, she start complaining about her work pressure. The total HO has been computerised and still she couldn't cope up with her assignments. Technology has become so intimidating that the senior generation couldn't learn the fundementals or atleast not prepared to learn. Its obvious that the number of VRS is nowadays in its raise. Its time for a change, age-wise, technology-wise, energy-wise and attitude-wise. It would be the wiser thing to do in modern world unless until the senior generation matches the juniors' content. But the change should be unanimous with every department willing to oblige. I couldn't understand why political administration still attenuates youngsters. Rahul Gandhi seems to be different. Already a lot is being dealt about him. Experience, tagname, youngster, the future..... everything is swiveling around him. Here is...

Faisalabad !

India went on with five bowlers, dropping one of its bastman and that has led to its downslope. Indians are five down at Faisalabad and are still 106 runs short to avoid a follow-on. Unless Pathan and Dhoni bring up a good display, Indian onslaught is sure. If India loses this game, I am sure there would be lot of cants against Greg and Dravid.

A bite at the root

In Tamil Nadu, TV channels have a real thrust. With ruling and the opposition parties functioning channels for and of their own, we've already witnessed many petty issues being politicised. This move by the CM Jayalalitha is different. She wants to have a bite at the root.

Attention Data !

Image
Jack Schofield of Guardian points out how well our attention data can be used. He quotes We're entering an age where it can be extremely comprehensive, and very effectively exploited, not just by merchants but by governments. That really is scary. Absolutely true !! when seen in a holistic manner. I dunno how I could fight out these pugilists. Those who started living life also in bytes, remember you are being tracked and trapped !!! As pointed out by Jack, "In internet nobody knows you're a dog" . Contrary to that, you don't know how doggy you are.

No memory loss !

I could remember everything you do, even if you switch me off ! says my PC !

Again in the headlines

Osama might have erased the record of appearing in most number of headlines. Here and here again he is there.

More concerns about internet

John C. Polanyi in his article says that "Science never gives up searching for truth, since it never claims to have achieved it". But the success of invention always depends on how well it is used. Here are more concerns .

Its all about happiness !

How long we want to be happy? and how? This is what Lee Dye says about "It is better to be rich and healthy than to be sick and poor". He quotes about some of the reasons of happiness "success at work, a good marriage, a fit body, a fat bank account." I am contemplating it and I have two things exchanged a fat body and a fit bank account . I have to work on the first but I dont think I have to concentrate on the second

Outlook released its top role models of Indian women. Here is the list... Sania Mirza: May be the greatest of the sensations this year. Fascinating fightback !

Image
Seems I can make whitesheet a cricket blog. Now-a-days cricketing news are filling me. But this fightback of WI is rather fascinating than that. Though the series is lost WI are scripting something. I am sure Australians are out of blue of this man Brian Lara! The third test is nicely poised as Lara has scripted another double and Australians at last are in trouble. Lara I think is a right man in wrong side. If he were an Australian or a burgher he would have surely gone parallel with Don Bradman. Cricinfo says more about his innings of today. The passage reads The performance the Australians had been wary of and the rest of the world had waited for through the Super Series and the first two Tests had finally arrived. The next stop is the Border crossing.

What is the lesson?

I was not a great follower of this guy. To me, the lights of his contemporaries clearly outweighed his' and comparatively they were gifted with better talent. Still he managed to operate headlines and proved capable of big things with his sheer determination. The contemporaries whom I am mentioning are Mohammed Azharuddin (upto 2000), Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid whereas the guy is Sourav Chandidas Ganguly. Cricket happens to be a everday event to almost all youths of modern India and I am no different. We used to chat, cherish, analyze and worship cricket (huh! It has been accepted as a religion by crores of Indians). I am an ardent fan of Mohd.Azharuddin during my school days. His elegance and wrist work are exclusive. When ten cricket lovers meet, it is obvious that atleast five will be Sachin lovers. He deserves that too. I don't wanted to be one among the bunch and so I opted for Azhar. But there came the big talents in mid 90s in the name of Dravid and Ganguly. I cou...

Back Again !!

Image
The stage is set like 1996 . 131 and 1 for 5 were the first figures marked against his name. Now it is almost a decade. Going through critical stage of his career, he has retained his position in the test squad. The selectors have said that he has been considered as an allrounder and his inclusion could add more balance to the team. I dunno how far they could justify their words but I am damn sure this would be the final opportunity for the legendary southpaw. NDTV reports that Sourav Chandidas Ganguly is included in Test team and now its (high) time for him to take up the challenge and come up with his pyrotechnics.
