The top list

Outlook released its top role models of Indian women.

Here is the list...

Sania Mirza:

May be the greatest of the sensations this year. No need of justification for her selection and no words could explain her excellence...

She has taken indian sporting arena to greater heights. A good example for the blend beauty and talent. She is sure to reach greater heights and can inspire numbers.

Aruna roy:

She worked at the SWRC until 1983, then moved to Devdoondri in 1990 and set up the Mazdoor Kisan Shakti Sangathana, a group which is a working example of a transparent organization. She is a strong supporter of the movement for Right to Information, which succeeded in getting the Rajasthan Right to Information Bill passed.
She won the Ramon Magsaysay award for Community Leadership in 2000.

Ela Bhatt:

Preity Zinta:

In India if you want to be famous easiest of the paths are politics and cine-field of-course no less of hardwork. When I saw Preity Zinta in Uyire (Dil Se) in which she played a small role, I never thought that she will last this distance with such fame. Anyhow she has the calibre to deserve the place she reached.

Rani Mukherjee:

If I have a choice of voting a voice or going to moon I would rather prefer the first and vote for Rani. The sweetest of voice and the good smile make her more fascinating to watch in big screens. No doubt she has been given a place in the list.

Barkha Dutt:

The face I see almost daily. The way she delivers the messages is simply great. I think she might have honed her skills having worked with Pronoy Roy and Rajdeep Sardesai, whom I consider some of the modern day television bigshots.

Some men are also behind the success of women. :-)

Anu Aga:

One of the greatest businesswoman of modern India. She is another role model for the youngsters.

On a television interview telecast in May, Aga compared life and death to the rising and setting of the sun. "When the sun sets, it is accepted as a natural process," she said. "Similarly death is not a tragedy; when one has to go, one will go. I don't want to sound like a saint, but at least I am aware that I am on this earth for a short time." She plans to make good use of every moment.

Dr.V.Shanta:
How many of us have missed the Adyar Cancer Institute donation box kept in the doorsteps of each super market. Here is the lady behind the scene who makes world of good with the penny we donate.

Sunita Narain:

What is there with the environment? If you have this question then she may be the high profiled person who could answer this neatly. Having done researches in a wide range of interests she stands apart with her works about environment. Unlike Poolan devi she has an unique approach towards the forests :-)

Chanda Kochhar:

ICICI the five letters might have reached every city of India. But there are no mere names behind the success of ICICI. They are real personalities who make customers out of no where and investors out of everywhere. She is the executive director of ICICI bank.

Many women might have succeeded with their way of handling their own talents, here is Chanda with her best in handling many and their money.

Mehbooba Mufti:

The land of terror, the garden of bloodshed masses Kashmir has witnessed yet another great politician in the name of Mehbooba. She is the daughter of Mr. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.

Dr.Firuza Parikh:

The only name in the list which I never knew before.

She is an infertility specialist. She has done many examinations and her observations can judge her as a psychiatrist or a gynaecologist. May be a split personality:-)

I like to see some more faces in the list

Uma Bharathi
Aishwarya Rai
Koneru Humpy
Shobha De

Comments

If I were to vote...I would vote for Barkha Dutt. Have been admiring her for quite sometime now. The way she handles even the most difficult of situations and her knowledge of the subject matter... simply awesome.
